The Kimber CDS9 is a compact 9mm pistol with a stainless steel slide and an aluminum frame in a single-action, hammer-fired design. It has a 3.18-inch barrel, a 6.2-inch overall length and weighs 20.5 ounces. The optic-ready slide uses an RMSc footprint and has serrations for positive manipulation. A Picatinny rail takes compatible weapon lights, and the controls are ambidextrous. The package includes one 13-round and one 15-round magazine.

The CDS9 suits buyers who want a slim, lightweight pistol for concealed carry with a red dot option. The 15+1 capacity in a compact frame and the single-action trigger give a familiar feel for shooters used to 1911-style handling. The aluminum frame keeps carry weight down, which helps during long days on the body.
